The fore-edge painting on Tarka shows the otter on a riverbank with a heron opposite; The one on Salar shows a hillside river with a salmon swimming upstream. Both fore-edges paintings are initialled by the artist.

First editions. 2 volumes, 8vo., BOTH VOLUMES WITH A FORE-EDGE PAINTING, full green morocco gilt by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, gilt panelled spines, raised bands, all edges gilt, fine copies.
