First English edition. 2 volumes, 8vo., xxxi, 352; xi, 397pp., translated by Mrs Percy Sinnett with an introduction by Alexander von Humboldt, folding map, 11 chromolithographed plates, some captions cropped, 12 woodcuts, bound as an Eton College leaving present in contemporary tan calf gilt, spines in six compartments, red and green labels to second and third, others richly gilt, raised bands, small repair to foot of spine, a fine set.
