MBA004: Lot 15. [Drawing] –

Fine wash drawing of a young Russian woman wearing a plain long tunic and a headscarf. The barefoot “Russian lady selling fruits in the city”, as the French caption explains, is carrying fruits in three different baskets, two of which are hanging at the back and front of an arched shoulder pole. The background is relatively bare, with a cloudy sky in the upper half and what looks like small mounds and a tumbrel in the lower half.
