An outstanding series of town views; Frankfurt, Mayence, Dresden, Ulm, etc.
Samuel Prout (1783–1852), an outstanding watercolour artist, found his niche as an early pioneer of lithography. He travelled extensively on the continent, particularly in the north, recording the land- and townscapes of Germany and Belgium.
