A renowned spa resort since the discovery of mineral springs there in 1716, Cheltenham is famed for its fine Georgian architecture, recorded in the present set of fine fresh plates.
These hand-coloured aquatints were etched by H. Menke and J. Buck after drawings by T. Hulley, and depict the Montpellier Pump Room, the Assembly Room, Hygeia House, the Crescent, Well Walk, Old Wells and Pump Room.

First edition. Landscape folio (37 x 29 cm). 6 hand-coloured aquatint plates. Modern half calf, marbled boards, morocco label to upper cover, original front wrapper with title, imprint and date surrounded by an acanthus border bound in.
