A fine copy of the first edition. Gail was a landscape painter and painter and engraver of architectural subjects. After studying at the Munich Academy he travelled abroad, visiting Spain in the early 1830’s. He studied the Moorish architecture of Spain, and this collection of plates reflects this interest. Also included are a series of plates showing scenes of bull fighting.
